Terms of Use
I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair
Effective Date: July 11, 2025
Welcome to I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair. By engaging our services, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully, as they outline the conditions under which we provide repair and maintenance services for heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and diesel engines. These terms apply to all customers, including individual owners, fleet operators, and third-party payors.
1. Authorization for Repairs
By submitting a vehicle for service at I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair, you authorize us to perform the work outlined in the provided estimate, including furnishing all necessary labor, materials, and parts. Additional repairs or services beyond the original estimate require your explicit approval, either in writing, orally, or electronically. If additional authorization is obtained orally or electronically, we will document the date, time, authorizing person’s name, contact details, description of additional work, and associated costs on the work order or invoice.
2. Estimates
All repair estimates are based on initial diagnostics and may change if additional issues are identified during service. We will provide a written or electronic estimate prior to commencing work. If a third-party payor (e.g., insurance or fleet management company) is involved, the estimate will include the third-party’s claim number, payment amount (if known), and a copy of their estimate. Any changes to the estimated cost will be communicated to you and, if applicable, the third-party payor before proceeding.
3. Payment Terms
Full payment for all services, labor, materials, and parts is due upon completion of the work unless credit terms are pre-approved by I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair’s Credit Department. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and approved electronic payments. For third-party payor arrangements, payment details must be provided prior to service, and any discrepancies between our charges and the third-party estimate will be resolved with the customer. Failure to make payment may result in a lien on the vehicle until the balance is settled.
4. Labor Warranty
I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair warrants its labor for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of service, covering defects in workmanship. If a repair fails due to our workmanship within this period, we will correct it at no additional cost, provided the vehicle is returned to our shop. This warranty does not cover failures due to misuse, neglect, or subsequent damage. No other warranties, express or implied, are provided for labor.
5. Parts Warranty
Parts installed by I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair are warranted solely by the manufacturer’s warranty, as applicable. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, unless a separate warranty is provided by us in writing. Special order parts may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 25% if returned, per the manufacturer’s policy, and must be accompanied by the original purchase invoice.
6. Sublet Repairs
If repairs are sublet to a third-party facility (e.g., specialized exhaust or component repairs), we will disclose the name and location of the facility upon your request. Sublet repairs require your authorization and will be documented in the work order. I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair is not responsible for the quality or warranty of sublet repairs, which are covered by the third-party facility’s terms.
7. Liability Disclaimer
I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair is not liable for loss or damage to your vehicle, trailer, or any articles left therein due to fire, theft, or other causes beyond our control. You grant us permission to operate or test your vehicle as needed for diagnostics or repairs without liability for incidental damage during such operations, provided reasonable care is exercised. All services are performed at the customer’s risk, except as provided by our labor warranty.
8. Delivery and Sales Tax
For sales tax purposes, the point of delivery for all parts, repairs, and diagnostic services is the physical address of I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair. Applicable taxes will be added to the invoice as required by state and local regulations.
9. Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate information about your vehicle, including its condition and any known issues, to ensure proper diagnostics and repairs. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in additional costs or delays. You agree to promptly retrieve your vehicle upon notification of service completion to avoid storage fees, which may be applied at a rate of $50 per day after 48 hours.
10. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from services provided by I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair will be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the laws of the state where the service was performed, and legal proceedings must be initiated in the appropriate local court.
11. Modifications to Terms
I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. The most current version will be available on our website and applies to all services provided after the effective date.
